While Google Voice can be a great FREE version of this - obviously you get what you "pay" for.  For those of you looking for a more sophisticated package, you'll want to consider the following:

First, you'll need a digital voice recorder. This is a very nice one with more memory than you'll ever need.

What I would recommend is after a meeting to record your notes while driving so you have detailed information to enter back into your CRM.

If you'd like to record your cold calls to hear how you sound or transcribe your phone conversations, you can add this onto the recorder for only $15 - well worth it for self-assessment/evaluation!

After you have a recorded message, you can then plug into the computer and use this transcription service:

Note you need to get the "premium edition" to be able to transcribe from pre-recorded audio files. 

You can also use this transcription service for faster email correspondence, presentations, notes, etc.
